PUNTLAND: Elders illegal tortured at Garowe North Check-Point

Reports From Qardho district says that Ali Saleebaan clan elders have strongly condemned the illegal torture, arrest and wounding of several Ali Saleebaan clan elders that took place Garowe North check-point on 23/12, that told that a press conference they held in Qardho.

13 representatives of Ali Saleban Clan elders left from Bossaso to Garowe where they are expected to attend a meeting dedicated to the extension of the Puntland President’s mandate.

Garowe Police check point argued the delegation not to enter the town and ordered them to return back to Bossaso, elders refused to return meanwhile dispute had started between the police and the elders, a heavily armed convoy companied by police officers reached the check and traditional elder was ushered into a police vehicle and transported to Qardho.

Tensions were reportedly high in Qardho following the arrests and Transport. The elders warned the government not to marginalize the people of Puntland and their traditional leaders by using force and such scare tactics.

on the other hand Yasin Abdisamad a famous elder from Mudug region has been arrested in Garowe when the son of President Farole ordered the arrest of Yasin Abdisamad, yesterday hundreds of Mudug residents made demonstration against the arrest of Yasin and other blind man who is called Abdikafi Hassan.

Puntland is in serious situation at the resent months, and people are still not have good hope, because of President Farole is doing wrong way of being torturing and arresting.
